PSSC is managed by a 15-person Board of Trustees (BOT), which serves as the policy making body of PSSC. Its members include a representative from the 13 social science member disciplines and two representatives from the PSSC associate member-organizations. The BOT elects its officers (Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer) who, along with the Executive Director, serving as the Secretary comprise the PSSC Executive Committee. The Executive Committee supervises the Secretariat, which carries out the day-to-day operations of the Council and implements its programs.
